Return Policy for The Short Line Model Railroad Supply
- Exchanges can be made within 30 days of receipt
- Returns can be made within 14 days of receipt
- Refunds will be charged back to the credit/debit card used in the original transaction (subject to a 3% chargeback fee where applicable)
- Customers can choose a store credit in which case no chargeback fee will be necessary
- There will be a 15% restocking fee for non-defective returns
- Shipping and handling charges will only be refunded if items were received damaged or defective, or if the incorrect item was received.
- Non-defective returns and exchanges must always be returned in their original condition and packaging
Damaged/Defective Returns & Exchanges
- If you have received an item that is damaged, defective, or not as described contact us within 14 days of receipt to arrange an exchange or return. Contact information is located on our "Contact Us" page.
- Any product returned to us as damaged or defective must include an explanation describing the damage or defect.
- The return must also include the original packaging.
- Products that are damaged or defective must be received and verified by The Short Line Model Railroad Supply before a refund or store credit is issued.
- For items that become defective more than 30 days after shipment and are under warranty, please contact the manufacturer.
- For items that were damaged during shipment please retain the shipping container and packing material for the claim with the shipping provider.
Shipping Items to Us
- If you are shipping back an item to us for any reason, you must contact our customer service before shipment. Failure to do so may result in the shipper being responsible for all shipping costs. Contact information is located on our "Contact Us" page.
- Always include a copy of your original packing slip when shipping items to us.
- If we have not shipped the item, we will simply initiate a refund for the order.
- Orders canceled more than 24 hours after being placed are subject to a 3% chargeback fee where applicable.
- If we have already shipped the item, we will request that the buyer return the item before issuing a refund.
- Return shipping costs will be borne by the buyer.
