Southern Pacific Vintage Steam DVD
This program was original intended to be on the East Bay Area of Californina, but it has been widened to include other things. We begin in San Jose, California, and work our way up to Oakland. Many commuter trains with Pacific's are seen, as well as war-time black Daylights, Cab Forward's, 4-8-2's, and smaller power on locals. Then we divert to the Altamont Pass line and see several Cab Forward articulateds, and even a 4-10-2 leading one train. Then we continue to Oakland, and see some trains around San Francisco before heading eastward along San Pablo Bay, and a visit to the San Ramos Branch and see some old film of smaller branch line operations. Next we have a Daylight section with a variety of films of Daylight trains in action, mostly with Daylight paint. Next we move to a segment that is east of Los Angeles and includes a lot of 30's and 1940's material mostly on the line to El Paso. There is a wide variety of train action in this segment. Next we see a variety of various SP images before closing out the show with several scenes of 4-6-2 2467 en route to Sacramento in 1999, and with 2472 at Hunters Point in 2001. There is something for everyone in this show, especially if you like SP Steam.
